Born in Calabria, Italy and arriving in the United States in 1922, Gualtieri was a prominent anti-Communist, anti-Fascist, and socialist. He edited several Italian-language publications, including Il Proletario (under the pseudonymn Enotrio Greco), "La Stampa Libera," "Il Mondo," and "Nazioni Unite". He was founder of the Mazzini Society. Gualtieri was also an officer of the Bakery and Confectionary Workers International Union of America, AFL, Local 102. From the description of Paper...
